JWS was founded in 2023 by a pair of film industry professionals to fill the gaps that they had in their own workflows, and help others to do the same.

The original idea was simple: networking equipment that could keep up with the technical demands of contemporary filmmaking, that could stand on its own or slot into existing control systems.

With the combination of their own experience and input from some of the brightest minds in set lighting, the crew at JWS aims to build products that make the technical side of filmmaking more smooth and efficient, at a price point that makes sense for everyone.

Put simply, we build the products that we want to use.

Like Steven Spielberg (the director of the movie that inspired our name and logo) once said, "you shouldn't dream [it], you should make it!"
